COVID and pain, the perfect storm.

For those directly affected by COVID, I don't want to downplay your problems or make light of the virus at all. But it has been a time of great healing and growth for me. All of my Christian life, I've had a conflict with the love and grace of God, being loved by anyone, especially God. I know well enough to know that I don't deserve either. And the thought of God loving someone like me, no way!

Heart was thing I was missing, because for most of my life mine was broken. I hated myself, was taught that there was something fundamentally wrong with me, intentionally or not. I struggled with self-loathing and depression for two decades. It wasn’t until we had been going to Cornerstone for a little while, maybe six months, that I began to see real victory on those fronts.

When I was in elementary school my parents got divorced. It was really hard because I was so young. I didn’t understand what was going on.

After their divorce, I would go to church on Sunday mornings out of obligation, not because I wanted to.

Karin Elia // Life Impact

What a beautiful day. I spent the morning with my cornerstone family and Pastor Jacob baptized me. Yet another blessing received through God's gift of salvation. To make this even more special my daughter Stacy and son-in-law Nick were there… adding to my joy. Thank you, Lord.

God is doing some phenomenal work through our stewards, through our faithful givers at Cornerstone. It has been so inspiring, exciting, and faith-building to be a part of this campaign so far. And we’re nowhere near done yet! We’re just three months in, but we wanted to share with the amazing things God has done so far! The impact we've seen has already been incredible, so take a moment to watch the video below. Don't forget - it’s never too late to help build His church!

Building Campaign Update // 2

It's been a few weeks since the launch of our “Here & Now” campaign, and we’re still running off the high that God provided during our Commitment and First Fruits weekends! We saw God move in our church in a mighty way as we prayed, believed, and committed to partner with Him for a miracle in our midst. And Church, God is already moving and working—and he’s doing it through us. Did you know that right now we have well over 100 families, couples, or individuals who have already given to our campaign? And that the total amount of donations already in hand is over $100,000? How amazing is that?! We are well on our way to seeing our new building come into realization. God is working miracles in the here and now, and He’s just getting started! As we’ve said and as we believe—the best isn’t yet to come...it’s here and now!

Building Campaign Update // 1

We’re in the final week of our ‘Here & Now’ teaching series, and we’re gearing up as a church to make our financial commitments on March 14. Work is already underway, as Construction Team Management—the group hired to design and build our new facility—was onsite on March 5. They met with staff leadership, and began the initial steps of assessing our current facility and property.

Addiction & Recovery

As I look back on the past eight years, God continues to amaze me with his grace and mercy. All glory be to God! I see where God's hand was on me even before I knew Him. In Acts 1, Jesus tells us we will receive the power of the Holy Spirit and witness to the ends of the earth.

Celebrating Communion

On a cold February morning I had traveled to spend a few hours with Dad. By the end of the first week of September, he would be in heaven. Dad was in a reflective mood that morning about deeply spiritual moments of his past. He shared with me this memory I had never heard before.

STEWARDSHIP & GIVING

The truth is, God doesn't need my money. He wants my heart. All of it! And once I finally gave it to Him a major paradigm shift took place that astonished me. I blew right past being a cheerful giver. (I read somewhere how God likes that.) I was suddenly downright GIDDY in a way that I cannot explain even now!

GOD'S WILL & THE FAITHFUL

God held on to us and we held on to each other, and for that we are so grateful. God made a way to turn our biggest problem into our biggest gift and blessing. We celebrate every single day for all that we have and we thank Jesus for meeting our every single need. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

When the faith of your heart becomes a tattoo on your arm...

Jesus’ challenge to trust him beyond reserves and retreats with no regrets wasn’t a one and done deal for me. It’s a decision I have had to make over and over again over the last 10 plus years. It’s one I am sure to face repeatedly until I am face to face with the Lord – and certainly throughout the unknown of this year ahead. I want to be confident in Him no matter what comes my way. Without fear, without worry; with love and with joy to offer abundantly.

Looking Back, We Wouldn't Change a Thing

The reality is, though we may differ in some or many ways, at the end of the day, we really aren’t that different at all. We all fall short, but still find ourselves as children of an incredible Father who extends more love, grace, and mercy than we could ever deserve.
