A Letter from Pastor Jacob
Cornerstone Church is different in all the best ways. Our Ministry Partners, our culture and DNA, our methodology for how we live out the Kingdom of God…it’s just different. And honestly? We think Northeast Ohio could use a whole lot more “different.” That’s why we have a vision to see the influence of our church grow exponentially. We want more and more people to experience how Jesus changes everything. We want to help our families and friends make a mark and build a fulfilling life. We want to witness victory after victory as we take over the city of Akron for the Kingdom of God. But here’s the rub—the influence that we need? It won’t come without investment. As John Maxwell says: “If your vision doesn’t cost you something, it’s a daydream.” Vision always comes with sacrifice. We know that at Cornerstone, because it’s your generosity and sacrifice that have been instrumental in helping people find the Father, a family, and a fulfilling future in our city. And as we end 2024, we don’t want to take our foot off the gas. We have a big vision for 2025 and beyond—and those dreams will only become reality as take steps of faith together. We face the same question now that we faced when we launched renewed ministry back in 2020: “What are we willing to do to accomplish our vision? How far are we willing to go to see victory in our city?” I already know our answer, Cornerstone. Just like we always do—we’ll meet the moment.
our STEPS OF FAITH IN 2025
Start Phase 2 of “Here & Now” Building Renovation
We’re in the midst of Phase 1 of updating and renovating our facility as part of our “Here & Now” Building Project—which includes a brand new parking lot, all-new restrooms, and a completely renovated space for Cornerstone Kids—all to be completed in Spring 2025. We also look to begin work on Phase 2 of our project, completely renovating the exterior building and landscaping, in Summer 2025.
Launch of an Additional Worship Service
We anticipate we will experience significant growth in 2025, and we are beginning to do the legwork of researching and preparing for the launch of a third worship service to accommodate that growth.
Invest in Local Partnership Outreach Opportunities
We tout our “Give & Serve” culture at Cornerstone, and we want to take it to the next level in 2025. In addition to our annual “Give & Serve Weekend”, we plan to invest in our relationships with local outreach organizations, like The Kenmore Free Store, as well as build out our own initiatives, like Loads of Love Laundry Giveaway.
Build a System for Crisis Relief Efforts
Cornerstone doesn’t want to only be a blessing locally, but nationally and globally. We’re strategizing and building out systems to respond with manpower, finances, prayer, and other resources when disaster strikes.
Invest in Marketing & Community Events
We can’t afford for Cornerstone to be the “Best Kept Secret in Akron” anymore. We’re going to invest like never before in marketing and advertising what God is doing in our midst—as well as scaling events like Trunk-or-Treat, Banner Year Weekend, and Nativity Lighting Ceremony to reach our community.
THE IMPACT OF your GENEROSITY
Your sacrifice and generosity does so much more than “just keep the lights on” at Cornerstone. Every incredible miracle, every bit of life change, every restored relationship—they have your fingerprints. Your investment into the mission of our church is making an eternal difference.
