Always Enough // Vision and Victory

There’s always a battle going on in one way or another. But every battle Jesus wages, he wins! When we see through his eyes and his power, and we are prepared to obey, we can confidently envision victory.

Romans 8: 31-39

There's always a battle going on in one way or another. But every battle Jesus wages, he wins! When we see through his eyes and his power, and we are prepared to obey, we can confidently envision victory.

The tendency is to feel we aren’t enough, and we don’t have enough, and we don’t know how to make it enough. What if our perspective is seriously flawed?

Always Enough

The first stage of following Jesus is when you just follow him because of what you want him to do, not because you want to be part of his mission.

A huge crowd kept following him wherever he went because they saw his miraculous signs as he healed the sick.

John 6:2

When you are in a battle, faced with a great need, Jesus already knows what he is going to do.

Jesus soon saw a huge crowd of people coming to look for him. Turning to Philip, he asked, “Where can we buy bread to feed all these people?” He was testing Philip, for he already knew what he was going to do.

John 6:5-6

Some of us see an inconvenient obstacle; some see an amazing opportunity. Pay attention to the tension.

“This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.” Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

Matthew 14:15-1

We have a hard time seeing opportunity.
We live in a world of “not enough.”

Philip replied, “Even if we worked for months, we wouldn’t have enough money to feed them!” Then Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up. “There’s a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish. But what good is that with this huge crowd?”

John 6:7-9

When what we have is placed in Jesus’ hands, it is always enough.

“We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. “Bring them here to me,” he said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.

Matthew 14:17-21

Get your information from your Source, not your senses.

I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

John 6:35

Your response declares who he is to you

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 6:19-21

Bottom Line: Whatever we place in the hands of Jesus will always be enough.

Next Steps:

  1. Think it through - where do you feel not enough? Can you give thanks before you see the miracle?

  2. What “I AM” do you need to believe Jesus to be in your current battle?

  3. Begin to pray over your V and V offering.
