“Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” Genesis 2:7
Ash Wednesday is a day of remembrance and repentance as we begin Lenten season together. The ash we place on ourselves—often on our forehead or wrist—represents our very real humanness: we came from dust - we will return to dust. It calls for our need for something greater in our lives. The greatest need of all: a Savior.
We must look inward, and not at others. We must compare ourselves to Jesus Christ, not to our friends, or neighbors, or even those we think are the real evil the world.
This day, and this season of Lent, is about a singular, focused question: “How is it between you and me, Lord?”
We invite you to join us Wednesday, March 2 between 6AM-6PM as we reflect on our need for and our hope in the Savior of this world. We will provide an intimate, self-guided meditation and prayer time for you to spend closely with the Father, followed by the placing of the ash elements. We hope you join us. Let’s begin this season of repentance together—so that we can finish in the victory of the cross and resurrection soon to come.
