Stewardship

At Cornerstone we define Stewardship as the careful, responsible management of something entrusted to one’s care. Steward Leaders give themselves to the greater good of others by holding personal accountability for results and outcomes.

The moment you walk through the doors at Cornerstone Church, you belong here and can consider this place your church home. Membership in the family of God is official when you confess your sins and receive Christ as Savior. You become a mature part of the family when you witness your faith by baptism and purposefully participate in a local body of believers to grow with each other and win the world for Jesus.

But just as a birth certificates don’t make a strong family—it takes active investment to do so—being a vital, contributing Steward and Leader of the church requires something deeper than membership. It requires action, passion, and engagement.

At Cornerstone Church, you become a Steward by seeing every resource (time, talent, treasure) as entrusted to you by God, then investing those resources to accomplish our God-given mission.

"Am I a Cornerstone Church Steward?"

Evidences of Stewardship Level Investment:

  • Connecting Purposefully: You participate in a cGroup.
Growing spiritually doesn't happen when we know what Jesus says; it happens when we do what he says. Application happens best within the context of community. “Circle are better than rows.” To grow spiritually, you have to be connected relationally. Transformative connections are made in small cGroups.

  • Serving Strategically: You are involved in regular, consistent serving as a Ministry Partner.
We believe when people engage in service, it leads to life change. Whether you serve on a ministry team in our church, in our community, or in the world, God calls us to serve one another. We want to help you know the joy and fulfillment of using your gifts to serve.

  • Inviting Intentionally: You are consistently inviting others to find the Father, a Family, and a Fulfilling Future with at Cornerstone.
As we become fully invested in the family of God, we invest in the other people in our lives so they can know true life, too.

  • Giving Systematically: You have a plan to faithfully support Cornerstone Church ministries through your finances.
Regularly, consistently supporting the ministries of the local church enables us to be a significant part of seeing God’s Kingdom come and his will be done here on earth.

"Become a Cornerstone Church Steward"

If Stewardship at Cornerstone Church is a goal you want to pursue, you can start by choosing us as your local church family, then make the following commitments to begin investing your personal resources:

I will protect the unity of my church.

By acting in love toward others
By refusing to gossip
By following the leaders

So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.
Romans 14:19

Obey your spiritual leaders, and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this with joy and not with sorrow.
Hebrews 13:1

I will share the responsibility of my church.

By praying for our success in our mission
By investing and inviting others to attend
By managing God's resources and consistently giving generously

We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly.
I Thessalonians 1:2

Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that my house will be full.
Luke 14:23

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.
II Corinthians 9:6

I will support the witness of my church.

By attending faithfully
By following Jesus steadily in my lifestyle
By warmly welcoming everyone who comes

Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing side by side, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News.
Philippians 1:27

I will give to & serve the mission of my church.

By leveraging my personal resources
By being equipped to serve
By finding a place to give & serve alongside with others

God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.
1 Peter 4:10
