Are you ready for a bold statement? Here goes: Our God, Jesus Christ, is the King of the World. And no—not in some spiritual, theoretical, or “far off future” sense. He is currently enthroned, ruling the world with grace and truth. That’s the truth. And that truth should change everything for us. Which brings us to a second bold statement: Most Christians don’t know or don’t live like this is the case. You see, when we realize the full weight of the fact that Jesus is King—how it happened and what it means—we will never see our faith the same way again.

Remember meeting your significant other’s family for the first time? How it gave you more context and clarity into who they are? The same is true of Jesus. We don’t appreciate the fullness of his identity until we realize that he is the culmination of an ongoing story between the God of the Universe and the people that he loves.
