It's A Phase! Don't Miss It! | The Wonder Years - Childhood
God has designed life to be a wonderful adventure, from the first breath on the planet to the day we leave for our forever home. There are distinct and delightful phases to the journey, each unique and filled with purpose. But they all pass more quickly than we think. Understand the design, challenges, and opportunities of each phase so you can find fulfillment along the way and complete the journey with joy.
Childhood is a time of distinct opportunities to influence a child’s forever for good.
Message Notes
Then he returned to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. And his mother stored all these things in her heart.Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people. Luke 2:51-52
A phase is a time frame in your child’s life when you can leverage distinct opportunities to influence their future.
Every child needs a champion.
“Every child deserves a champion, an adult, an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.” Rita Pierson
Every child needs someone who really knows them.
You can’t influence someone you don’t know.
Every child needs someone who enters their world again and again.
Embrace their needs, engage their interests.
Every child needs someone who helps them develop a moral conscience.
We aren’t trying to motivate them to BEHAVE right; we want them to discern and desire what IS right.
Every child needs someone who is growing in Jesus himself/herself.
“The best way to lead a child in the way he/she should go is to go that way yourself.”
Together:
Help them know God’s love.
Help them meet God’s family.
Help them trust God’s character.
Bottom Line
To have the best life and future, a child needs a parent at his/her best
